This prescription lens package will be fitted into your chosen eyewear and quality control checked by Eyekit prior to dispatch to ensure the quality and accuracy of your prescription. It comprises the following as summarised in the title:
Driving- Single Vision lenses for driving offer three distinct advantages compared to normal single vision lenses for distance vision.
- They optimise distance vision for driving by providing extra sharpness and power in the upper central part of the lens needed for driving. It is designed for those driving for long periods and particularly at night who feel insecure due to the reduction in their visual capacity and ability to focus on distant objects.
- The high definition lenses ensures they provide the best vision across the whole curvature of the lens avoiding optical distortions that can occur in the upper periphery area of vision.
- Some options incorporate anti-glare filters or tints that reduce light scatter and glare from on coming traffic at night particularly from car headlights and can provide improved contrast and brightness perception in poor daylight conditions.
Overall, they provide the driver with superior vision, reduced stress and visual fatigue and a more comfortable and relaxed driving experience at night.
Super Sports Lenses- Made from a unique material called NXT, it optimises the qualities of standard CR39, Mid-Index and polycarbonate prescription lenses while leaving out their inherent weaknesses. In fact, these lenses do not have any weaknesses. Originally made for the windscreens of apache gunships, it will stop a bullet! Its transparency and stability over time are exceptional (no cracking). It is ultra-light, has exceptional optics, is unbreakable and solvent-resistant.
High Definition-These are high definition (HD) lenses use the latest free-form technology. They use a digital design process that gives lens designers the ability to reduce lens aberrations even more than they can using conventional lens design and processing techniques with the standard option. Lighter and thinner than standard lenses they provide exceptional night/low light vision reducing glare and halo effects from car headlights. They also offer exceptional contrast perception sharpening vision and improved colour rendition providing brighter and more intense colours. This is particularly important for higher prescriptions and highly curved lenses as it ensures they provide the best vision across the whole curvature of the lens avoiding optical distortions that can occur in the periphery area of vision. Recommended if your prescription is over 2 spheres.
Crystal Clean - These lenses include our 'Crystal Clean' coatings. Premium Multi-layer anti-reflection (MAR) coating on both sides of the lens combines the benefits of Crystal Vision with the addition of ultra-smooth oleophobic and anti-static properties to facilitate lens cleaning. Key benefits:
- Scratch Resistant Coating - Reduces scratching and abrasions over time, keeping the lens clearer for longer and maximising vision quality and useful life of the lens over non coated lenses.
- Anti-reflective Coating - Prevents those annoying reflections, eliminating interference glare and ghost images, reducing eye strain and improves vision.
- Super Hydrophobic Coating - Premium performance coating. This water repellent coating is similar to a wax coating on a car, it helps to shed water droplets and avoids smudging. Also, water is not attracted to the lens surface in humid conditions (steam, condensation etc). Ideal for outdoor use such as playing football on rainy days or for spray when sailing.
- Oleophobic Clean Coat - This oil repellent coating makes removing perspiration, greasy finger marks, smudges, and dirt much easier, keeping your lenses clearer and cleaner for longer.
- Antistatic Coating - Repels dust and stays clean. Electrostatic charges are eliminated by a conductive layer within the MAR coating, minimising the attraction of dust.
- UV Protection - Added rear surface UV protection.
- Lens Make - Nortor-SV HD Trilogy AFAR-SV. Inner surface digitally designed single vision. With its integrated atoroidal super aspheric inner surface this lens offers the best single vision optics.
- Index - 1.53 (The higher the index, the thinner and lighter the lenses).
- Abbe - 45 (The higher the abbe value, the better the optical clarity of the lens).
- Density - 1.11g/cm cubed.
- UV Protection - 400nm.
- Scratch Resistant Coating - Protects the lens from abrasion.
- Prescription Range: +6.00 to -6.00 Spheres with opposite Cyls to 6.00.

If there is no one available to sign for your order, Royal Mail will leave a notification card and your order will be taken to your local post office where it will be available for collection. As an alternative, at checkout, you can change the delivery address to your workplace or another location where your parcel can be signed for.

Prescription Orders
Over 95% of orders dispatched are delivered within the timeframes stated above, however, due to the nature of the glazing process, we can not guarantee specific delivery dates on prescription orders. Prescription lenses are made to very high standards with low tolerance for errors and are rigorously checked at all stages of production. Any error in the prescription across the lens, deficiencies in the coating or blemishes that cannot be removed means the lens would need to go back in production and re-made. All prescription lenses are also rigorously checked at Eyekit before dispatch and any errors will mean that the lenses as sent back to the glazer for replacing. We have a zero tolerance for errors to ensure our customers receive prescription eyewear to the highest standards and we will not compromise on these standards even if it means delivering eyewear later than expected. Your eyesight is perhaps your most important sense and you deserve the best sight possible.
